Book Hall of Fame

As a little end of the year activity, my class voted on a Book Hall of Fame!
Students were given the chance to nominate ANY book they read this year or in previous years. We compiled a huge list of titles on the computer. Once I had everything copied and ready, students voted on their top five choices.

Our classroom TOP 3 winners were:

Wonder by R.J. Palacio
Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper
Drizzle by Kathleen Van Cleve

Now, I have a bulletin board ready with book suggestions for next year's students! Hopefully, my students next year will use the billboard when selecting books to start the year.

What bulletin boards do you have planned? Do share! I'm a planner. :)

  1. I love this! To celebrate teacher appreciation, we are making "wanted" posters for our favorite fictional teachers.

  2. I've love this idea. I have heard so much about Wonder in the bloggy world. It is on my list of must reads this summer. And I hadn't heard of the Sharon Draper book before now, but I love her work. She taught at my high school when she won teacher of the year. Then she stopped teaching to become an author. I need to check out that book as well. I'm pinning this post. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks for visiting!! Both picks are incredible. They completely changed me - reading them from the teacher point of view is very powerful.

  3. Love the idea! We are in school until June 19th, so I'll keep this in mind. I see that you have "The One and Only Ivan" on your trophy. Is it a good book?

    1. YES! It is by far the MOST checked out book in my room. I haven't even had a chance to read my copy because my students are all over it!
